In-School Programming - PreK-12 Arts Education Initiative
The Pre‐K‐12 Education Initiative is a comprehensive new model for in-school education that links the artistic and educational offerings of the Divisions of the Woodruff Arts Center with each other and with the Georgia Department of Education K‐12 Performance Standards. By aligning our programs to the State standards we gain the ability to share our strengths and develop a new model of arts integration that partners artists with teachers in Georgia classrooms. With this alignment and expansion of programs and curriculum the Woodruff also plans to greatly increase in‐classroom curriculum delivery, school assembly programs, classroom residencies, in‐school concerts and performances, and outreach to Title 1 Schools. This increased capacity for the delivery of arts education is closely linked and dependent on the strong Divisional programs and cadre of performing and visual artists, arts educators and teachers trained through the Georgia Center for Professional Learning in Arts Education.
