Green Initiatives

The Woodruff Arts Center has taken strides to lead in green initiatives, making our campus a better place for our visitors and our employees.  The Woodruff Arts Center is home to the largest GreenGrid roof system in Atlanta, planted on top of the High Museum of Art's Bunzl Center and the SCAD dormitories on the WAC campus.  The Woodruff has also partnered with MARTA to make commuting for employees more convenient, and has implemented a new bicycle sharing program.

EPA's Biggest Loser Competition!

The Memorial Arts Building at the Woodruff Arts Center has been selected to participate in the ENERGY STAR National Building Competition, the first coast-to-coast contest to save energy and fight global warming in commercial buildings. Competing buildings will "work off the waste" through improvements in energy efficiency with help from EPA's ENERGY STAR program. The building that reduces its energy use the most on a percentage basis will be recognized by EPA as the winner. Contest participants will take part in outreach activities, periodic "weigh-ins" to measure progress, and a final celebration to announce the winner..
