Investment in the arts is considered to be one of the most innovative ways for companies to continue to develop their workforce:
  • Studies show that 75% of consumers are more likely to trust a company aligned with a cause, especially the arts, and many companies have specifically chosen to be associated with the Woodruff Arts Center.
  • Creativity is an essential factor in a sharp workforce and studies show that cultural participation preserves the creative skills required of a knowledge-based workforce.
  • Studies show that "community quality of life" is the second most important factor - just below salary - and more important than benefits, stock options or company stability in determining the attractiveness of a new job. "Community quality of life" is considered to include safe neighborhoods, quality of schools, accessible recreational and outdoor attractions and a vibrant arts scene.
  • Studies show that "quality of place" is the number one factor in determining location preference for a highly mobile and knowledgeable workforce. Four factors establish quality of place: lifestyle, environmental quality, a vibrant music and arts scene, and natural and outdoor amenities.
