SCHOOL PROGRAMMING
Young
People’s Concerts (FIELD TRIPS)
The Symphony’s Young People’s Concerts open young people’s
minds and hearts to the world of classical music through interactive concerts
by a professional symphony orchestra. Four levels of concerts target the
learning and developmental needs of different age groups: PreK-2; grades
3-5; grades 6-8; and high school. To make the most of the concert experience,
the Symphony offers professionally produced downloadable study and/or
activity guides, music CDs and DVDs for students in grades 8 and
below. These exceptional guides help you make curriculum connections between
classical music and other academic disciplines; they also prepare students
for the performance and extend the experience when they return to the
classroom.
