SCHOOL PROGRAMMING
TOURS
(Field Trips)
Beginning last year and continuing for the next two, the High presents an unparalleled cultural event. Louvre Atlanta will premiere a series of special exhibitions drawn from the world-renowned collections of the Louvre Museum in Paris.
These events are of international significance and will occur
nowhere else in the United States—only in Atlanta. Now more than
ever, the High is your resource for the world of visual arts and learning.
Docent–Led Tours
More than just tour guides, the High’s docents are an important resource
for meeting the academic objectives of your students; these volunteers
will lead your students in discussion and activities relating to the museum
experience. Note: Docent-led tours are available on a limited basis; please
call early in the academic year to secure a reservation.
Audio–Guided Tours (Louvre Atlanta and Inspiring Impressionism)
Audio-guided tours of the High’s special exhibitions let students
learn about great works of art from all over the world while they view
them at the museum. Complimentary resource guides with classroom connections
are available for you to use in pre-and post-visit lessons.
Teacher-Led
Tours
Teachers are always welcome to lead their own students through the galleries
at the High. Please consider using the Center for Creative Teaching’s
new program, Museum 101, to prepare your own tours in advance of your
visit.
