How will I go to sleep if my feet don't stop dancing?
—Kindergarten student after seeing a performance by Young Audiences artist Andy Offut Irwin

Recognizing the potent effect of the arts on learning, Young Audiences brings the arts directly to you. This dynamic division of Woodruff Arts Center—the Center’s first addition in nearly 40 years—offers top-notch arts programming at your school or community location. More than 80 professional artists and ensembles from around the world deliver a multicultural, multi-disciplinary mix of live programming that not only entertains, but also entices students of all ages to learn. The response is contagious: 71 school systems have used Young Audiences at least once, which amounts to a staggering 5,000 programs a year.

What we offer:
Live, curriculum-based assembly performances, artist residencies and classroom workshops by professional writers, actors, dancers, musicians, puppeteers, visual artists and more for public and private schools throughout the region.

How we help you:
• Young Audiences designs its programs to meet your specific needs, curriculum goals, and state and academic standards.

• Its staff helps you match artists with programs and, if asked, plan an entire year of arts programming in advance.

• The Young Audiences
website allows you to search by subject, art form and grade level for programs and, if you like, to book them online.

• Study guides are available for each program and offer an overview, suggestions for pre-and post-performance activities, relevant vocabulary and additional resources.  Additional resources are available through the national Young Audiences’ Arts for Learning website.
