2006-2007 SCHOOL PROGRAMMING

DANCE (continued)

Nicole Livieratos
Choreographer Nicole Livieratos, founder and director of Gardenhouse Dance, has taught dance and used dance to teach a variety of other subjects for more than 15 years. She is the recipient of the Mayor’s Fellowship Award in the Arts and a King Baudouin Foundation grant for cultural study in Belgium.

Creative Movement for Young Children
Children turn, stretch, twist and bend their bodies to illustrate and reinforce a variety of ideas, concepts and curriculum topics. This program is perfect for children whose verbal skills are just developing.

Learn to Move, Move to Learn
This program explores various topics and makes learning fun through creative movements, gestures and sounds. Whatever the subject—poetic rhyme and meter, the parts of the digestive system, or even geography—kinesthetic movement helps students visualize and retain what they have learned.
