The Woodruff Arts Center opened in 1968 as the Memorial Arts Center. This project was an authentic milestone in Atlanta history, simultaneously remembering arts patrons who died in the 1962 Orly plane crash and continuing their legacy by assuring a central place for the arts in Atlanta’s future.
